In May 2025, Jeanefer Jean-Charles MBE directed a powerful mass movement performance for Art and the City, part of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival 2025, transforming Castries into a vibrant showcase of St. Lucian rhythm, colour, and movement.
Working with the Cultural Development Foundation, Jeanefer led training with 24 local choreographers from diverse dance backgrounds, bringing their voices together in a unified celebration of mass movement.
The project featured over 120 St. Lucian dancers, blending traditional folk and contemporary dance to honour St. Lucian culture, stories, and heritage.
The performance was hailed as a dynamic highlight of the 2025 festival, amplifying creative voices across St. Lucia.
This project builds on Jeanefer’s globally celebrated work, including the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
This year's annual celebration of free outdoor dance on 7 September showcases a host of amazing outdoor spaces across Stratford.
With stunning staging and a huge variety of dance styles, this year’s Dancing City showcases some exceptional homegrown and international talent.
