Mass participation commission for the Commonwealth Youth Games

Jeanefer has been working alongside long-term collaborator Walk The Plank on the opening ceremony of this year's games which take place on the Isle of Man. Following a series of workshops at the start of the year, Jeanefer will return to the Isle of Man next month to start working on the mass choreography, which will include a cast of over 300 dancers and 20 parkourists. Another large scale commission: the Bristol Harbour Festival

Jeanefer is excited to have been invited by Swindon Dance to create a mass choreography for the dance stage as part of the Bristol Habour Festival. The piece will involve dancers from local youth groups and will be billed as the Grande Finale as the celebrations wrap up in the Dance Village. Fingers crossed July will bring us some nice weather!

Major commissions for the Tomorrow's men project

Tomorrow's Men will be working with groups from 8 East London boroughs over a period of 10 weeks, which will culminate in a large scale performance on 30th June 2012 as part of the Greenwich + Docklands International Festival and Big Dance. The participants will be a mixture of local youth groups, professional dancers and hard to reach young men who, as well as developing their dance and performance skills, will receive mentoring and support from a team of professional support workers and role models (including some of those hoping to win gold at London 2012!)..   Read more
