Big Dance Trailer
Jeanefer Jean-Charles
Artistic Director
On Wednesday 20th January Jeanefer presented the Big Trailer in Spitalfields Market to 200 guests from the world of dance and press & media, from Bollywood to Ballet, Flamenco to Street, Lindy Hop to Salsa. The Big Dance Trailer took the audience on a toe-tapping, hip shaking journey, giving a taste of what’s to come in 2010 and beyond. Five professional dance companies each presented a short extract from their repertoire, alongside a 45 strong ensemble of dancers from the A-Z of dance weaving in and out of the piece. The market came alive with dance and the audience were left wanting more. For more information visit Bigdance2010.com
Wiltshire Dancing Commission
For 2010, Jeanefer has been commissioned to create a mass choreography for the Thrive Dance Festival, which will take place in Wiltshire throughout May 2010 and is being jointly hosted by Wiltshire Dancing and The Arc Theatre, Trowbridge.
Thrive Dance Festival launches on 1st May 2010 and will be Wiltshire's largest dance event to date. The festival has been created by a number of key cultural providers to celebrate the forthcoming London 2012 Olympics. Inspired by the Olympics, Jeanefer will create the huge piece of choreography to a brand new, specially commissioned musical composition by DJ Walde (Big Dance 2006 and Zoonation's Into The Hood) which will be performed by over 16 local dance groups.
